Tips for having a great figure this summer

Ladies (and gentlemen!), summer is coming and it's the perfect time to get our figures ready and show them off with pride and confidence when we put on those swimsuits on the beach. We're exactly three months away from summer, enough time to transform our bodies and look stu-n-dye. Here are some simple tips to help you achieve that summer figure you've always wanted.

Regarding food: It is important to drastically reduce the consumption of foods that make us gain weight and cause us to retain liquids. You should cut down two (or four!) on simple carbohydrates, such as refined sugar, bread, cookies, flour in general. There are complex carbohydrates that you can eat, such as those found in many types of vegetables (spinach, broccoli, zucchini, lentils) since they come with fiber and nutrients and are in fact good for your health and for losing weight. Among the foods that make you bloated are soft drinks and dairy products, so it is best to say goodbye to them at this time. Pay special attention to so-called sports drinks; yes, it is true that they hydrate you, but they are so full of sugar that this counteracts any benefit they may provide. Drink lots of water! If anxiety gets the better of you, you can eat some healthy snacks during the day, such as a handful of pistachios or an apple, which are foods that provide you with fiber, vitamins and minerals and keep your hunger at bay.

Regarding exercise: It's important to increase the time and intensity of your cardiovascular exercise (walking, running, cycling, swimming, dancing) but don't stop there, you have to add resistance training (with weights) to tone and strengthen specific parts of the body. The idea is to pay attention to the whole body, including the arms, legs, buttocks and especially the abdomen (which is what is most visible in that bikini you want to show off!). So get going on those abs.


Regarding skin care: We can't forget to take care of our skin if we want to look great.  At home, you can do a hydrating and toning mini facial and a full-body exfoliation to remove all impurities and dead cells. Remember that we sweat more in summer and these treatments will prevent you from having acne breakouts. It is essential to use a good sunscreen at all times to avoid sunstroke and skin blemishes.

By following these simple tips, you can transform your body in just three months and look spectacular this summer, which is almost upon us!
